Century gives back to the community
Century cares about the community, the citizens, and our employees. This is why we are set out to give back to society anyway that we find possible. As the years pass and generations change, Century is always striving to cultivate the lives of others everyday. Whether its a donation, riding a bike, or cleaning a beach, the Century team and customers are coming together to sustain our environment and communities for many generations to come.
National Multiple Sclerosis Society
In May 2012, a few employees, including customers, joined together to create a bike team to ride 75 miles down to Key Largo on a mission to find a cure for Multiple Sclerosis. The team, including our CEO, started their bike ride at the Homestead speedway, rode through the streets of Miami and finished their adventure in the well-known John Pennekamp state park.
Many of us saw the videos and decided to join in on this “fad” of dumping ice cold water on ourselves. Many did it with no real knowledge of what it was all about. At Century, we joined in on the efforts in hopes of one day finding a cure. Besides our generous donation to this great cause, we had many of our employees line up and get a bucket, well buckets, of ice water dumped on them.
Bridges to Community
Our homes, our sacred safe haven. Unfortunately, not everyone has a place that they can call home. Century has joined efforts with Marsh & McLlennan with donations to help build homes in Nicaragua for those who are in need of them. With Century and all the others who have helped in this cause, year by year more individuals will have a place that they too can call home.
Team for Kids
Run a marathon? It's a crazy thought to many. Some may ask, "how can someone run 26.2 miles?". This question didn't run through our CEO's mind as he ran the 2013 ING New York City Marathon. Mr. Pino and Century joined efforts with Team for Kids association to support youth health groups and fitness programs throughout the country. Along with our help and that of many others, now children can too one day run a marathon!
Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure
Each October, Century helps raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research through the Susan G. Komen Research Foundation. On October 17th, 2015 Century joined efforts with Century Home builders of South Florida and the Plumbing Contractors Association to go on a 5K walk to support the funding and research of this disease. A disease that has affected not only our employees personally but as well as our customers and colleagues in the industry. Century together with so many thousands of others can one day hope that breast cancer will be a thing of the past.
